What does SKM Tool migrate?
Extensions (.rbz and supporting folders), keyboard shortcuts, toolbar and tray layouts, and references to custom materials or asset libraries that live in standard SketchUp paths—everything that makes a workspace feel “yours.”
Is my license perpetual?
Yes. SKM Tool is sold as a lifetime license for the purchased major version line. You pay once per seat and can keep using it for eligible migrations without a subscription.
What happens if I reinstall Windows or replace a workstation?
Your license key is tied to your purchase email. Deactivate the old machine from the client portal (or contact support), then activate on the new install—no need to buy again for a hardware refresh.
Does SKM Tool run on macOS?
Today SKM Tool targets Windows environments where most large SketchUp deployments are managed. macOS support is on the roadmap; sign up for release notes if you need Apple Silicon coverage.
Which SketchUp builds are supported?
We test against major releases from 2015 through the current year channel. If you are on a long-term support build, check the compatibility matrix in the help center before upgrading firm-wide.
Will migration break signed or paid extensions?
SKM Tool moves files and configuration faithfully, but vendors may require re-authorization after a version jump. Plan for a short window to log in to extension portals—SKM gets you 90% of the way there.
Can I roll back if something looks off?
Yes. The tool creates a snapshot manifest before applying changes so you can restore the prior layout or selectively re-run a migration step.
Is network deployment supported?
For IT teams, SKM supports silent flags and configurable paths so you can script migrations across lab machines—ideal when dozens of seats move to the same SketchUp year release.
